Taunton Deane Borough Council is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology and including those who have visual, hearing, motor and cognitive impairments. We are actively working to reach conformance level AA from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). There may be some pages that do not conform to all the guidelines. A 'Skip Navigation' facility has been provided on this site for the benefit of users with screen readers. It can be implemented by using the skip navigation access key, allowing the user to bypass the navigation areas and go directly to that page's main content.
Document Viewing Help

Most computers will already have a program suitable for displaying tiff images, although if not a number
of shareware programs are available for download, from sites such as

Speech-enabled browsing
We have enabled our site to be used with Texthelp Systems Browsealoud speech-enabled software. Browsealoud is a free tool that enables website content to be heard. Speech enabling our website provides an additional way of accessing content for people who find it difficult to read. This includes those with learning disabilities or dyslexia, those whom English is not their first language or anyone with visual impairment.
